The year 2025 is marked by the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the 🇦🇿 Republic of Azerbaijan and the 🇺🇿 Republic of Uzbekistan. On this occasion, as a member of the Culture Committee of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Chairman of the Union of Artists of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, we invited Azerbaijani and Uzbek artists to an art platform that brings together artists from Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan in order to reflect the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries in the field of cultural relations. Such exhibitions have been organized many times in our practice.
The joint exhibition “Friendship on the Silk Road” is another beautiful manifestation of the cultural unity of two friendly countries and brotherly peoples.
We have repeatedly observed the holding of Uzbekistan Days in Azerbaijan, and artists from the brotherly country demonstrating their national and cultural values on various platforms. At the same time, numerous visits have been made to Uzbekistan with the participation of delegations representing various fields from our country. During these mutual contacts, we once again saw how similar and close the cultures of both countries are.
In Uzbekistan, a country of artisans, beautiful embroidery, pottery, fascinating architectural monuments and unique miniatures take people to the world of fairy tales. It is imperative to add music and colorful dances to this rich cultural landscape.
This exhibition is another clear indicator of cultural and humanitarian cooperation between the two countries. Our intention to hold this exhibition in a symbolic way in Nakhchivan, which is considered the gateway to the East, is still on the agenda and we will definitely realize it in the coming years.
At the same time, the project conveys to the audience the spirit of multifaceted partnership, which is based on the common historical values of the two countries and the common political will today, through the language of art.
I express my deep gratitude to everyone who contributed to the implementation of this wonderful online exhibition, including the Deputy Chairman of the Culture Committee of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Cultural Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan Gunay Efendiyeva, and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Bakhrom Ashrafkhana, for their cooperation and support, as well as to the Azerbaijani and Uzbek artists participating in the exhibition, and wish them success in their future creative activities.
I can definitely say that this exhibition will contribute to the successful development and sustainability of creative dialogue between our peoples, in addition to various fields, in the field of fine arts. In this exhibition, it is possible to once again see the common cultural heritage of the Azerbaijani-Uzbek brotherhood.
Taking this opportunity, I sincerely congratulate the artists of both countries on the upcoming New Year, and wish them good health, prosperous life and peace!
